Activist And TikTok Star Calls Out Hypocrisy of Texas Republicans' 'Pro-life' Stance
"How can you be pro-life but force a rape victim to have her rapist’s baby?" activist and TikTok star says
Olivia Julianna has made a name for herself as a celebrity on the TikTok social media platform, and as an activist in Texas fighting against the Lone Star State’s recently enacted abortion ban.
On Saturday, the determined 18-year-old brought her fight to the nation’s capital for the Rally for Abortion Justice at the 2021 Women's March.
Olivia Julianna — who gained fame for bringing down an anti-abortion tip-line after the new abortion ban went into effect last month — railed against her state’s Republican Party.
The state of Texas passed a law which allows anyone to sue anyone else who “aids and abets” an abortion after just six weeks of pregnancy. There are no exceptions for rape or incest.
The law has become a flashpoint in the fight for abortion access in to this country.
“If the Texas GOP was truly pro-life, they would hold all life at an equal value. They would do everything in their power to ensure that every texan had the resources they needed for a positive and healthy existence, but they don’t,” Olivia Julianna said. “How can you be pro-life but force a rape victim to have her rapist’s baby? How can you be pro-life and force a young girl to become a mother before she can even get her driver’s license?”
