By Refusing To Air The Public Jan 6 Hearings, Fox News Is Committing 'Journalistic Malpractice'
Hannity and other right-wingers will be on, as usual
The first of the primetime public hearings of the House select committee investigating the events surrounding the January 6 insurrection will be aired and streamed on virtually every popular media outlet.
Except for Fox News, that is.
And in doing so, the right-wing network responsible for spreading so much of the disinformation surrounding the insurrection and the attempt by supporters of former president Donald Trump to try to overturn the legal and legitimate election of Joe Biden as the next president of the United States, will be committing a form of “political malpractice,” according to Kurt Bardella, who once was a Republican staffer and operative.
Moreover, the decision by Fox News executives to air their regular slate of right-wing hosts instead means that those Americans who most need to see the hearing won't, according to author John Pavlovitz.
“I'm old enough to remember when Fox News covered #Benghazi wall-to-wall including @HillaryClinton’s 11+hour testimony. By choosing not to broadcast the #January6thCommitteeHearings, They are making the conscious decision to commit journalistic malpractice,” Bardella, who today is a Democrat and political commentator, tweeted.
Benghazi refers to a 2012 attack was a coordinated attack against two United States government facilities in Benghazi, Libya, by members of the Islamic militant group Ansar al-Sharia.
Republicans used the attack, for years, as a pretext to baselessly blame then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for the carnage.
“The people who need to watch the #January6thCommitteeHearings will not watch them. The rest of us need to watch them and then outvote them,” posted Pavlovitz, author of the book, If God is Love, Don't Be a Jerk.
