‘Capitulating Into Oblivion, Aren’t They?’: MSNBC Duo’s Humiliation Travels Overseas
Australian TV hosts mock Scarborough and Brzezinski
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski’s humiliation has now gone global.
Australian TV hosts have joined the mockery of the married hosts of the MSNBC program Morning Joe, who have been widely and profoundly criticized for meeting with Donald Trump after the election.
Scarborough and Brzezinski announced on their program that they had met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida, despite warning viewers on a daily basis for months ahead of the election just what a danger Trump was to the nation and to US democracy.
Reaction was swift, as viewers began turning off the long-running news chat program and many others in TV and media across the political spectrum have been mocking the pair since.
A pair of hosts Down Under with Sky News Australia now have joined in, pointing out the apparent surrender by Morning Joe and other US media.
“I’ve got to give it this week, again, to the U.S. left-wing media because they really are capitulating into oblivion, aren’t they? Let’s start with the hosts of Morning Joe on MSNBC groveling to Donald Trump,” said Danica De Giorgio, before going to a clip of Brzezinski and Scarborough’s on-camera announcement of their fateful get-together with Trump.
After the clip she called the pair “pathetic.”
Co-host Prue MacSween joined in calling the American duo “fools.”
“Groveling. You know, what was the point? You’ve called him Hitler, you’ve called him a dictator, you’ve called him all these slurs over the years only to trot yourself off to Mar-a-Lago and hope for the very best,” De Giorgio chimed in.
“Well, Trump must have loved it. I bet he really will make them pay. And you know, he’s not an idiot. So you know, we know those two morons are going to just get their comeuppance somewhere along the line,” MacSween said. “But I just find the hypocrisy of all these people is just astounding. And, look, it’s just so wonderful to see them cowering and groveling like that.”
“Isn’t it beautiful?” De Giorgio said, sarcastically.
“You know, the true characters are coming out, that they’ve got no character, that they actually have no courage of their convictions,” MacSween said.
“Nothing, nothing at all. Well, MSNBC is hemorrhaging in the ratings and, well, hate to say it, but serves them — ” De Giorgio said.
“Give MSNBC a miss,” said MacSween.
