Chris Wallace Refuses To Invite Certain Guests Back Because of ‘Their Crime’ from January 6
Fox News host's revelation comes as select committee ramps up investigation into the roles members of Congress might have played
Fox News host, and veteran TV journalist, recalled what the deadly January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol Building was like for him.
“January 6 was one of the worst days — I covered Congress for several years when I first came to Washington in 1978, and as I’m sitting there live watching it on television and seeing this mob coming to the cathedral of our democracy and sitting in the chair that the president of the Senate sits in and, you know, running around the Rotunda, I was sickened,” Wallace said Wednesday night.
The tables had been turned a bit for Wallace, as the expert interviewer sat in as a guest on comedian Stephen Colbert's CBS late-night show.
The real revelation Wallace shared, however, is that he has made a conscious decision not to invite back certain guests — whom he didn't name — on his Sunday news and interview program on Fox News based on their participation in the events of January 6, including the efforts to prevent the legal and lawful certification of Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.
The House select committee set up specifically to investigate the events of January 6 has begun seeking phone and other data of several members of Congress to gain an understanding of what role they may have played in aiding and abetting the insurrection.
“Well, there are plenty of people who, you know, were the leaders — in the Congress — of challenging it that I just have not had on the show ever since then, and have purposely not had on the show because I don’t frankly don’t want to hear their crime,” Wallace said. “But having said that — there are some leaders that, you know, you have to do — you have to ask them questions. They’re people in leadership in the Senate. But I won’t let them come on without putting them through the wringer.”
