GOP Pollster: Republicans Don’t Have a Message Except that They’re Against What the Biden Administration Is Doing
Fundamental right-wing failure is exposed right on Fox News
Occasionally, a nugget or two of objective reality will actually penetrate the right-wing mediasphere of Fox News.
That happened Thursday when a Republican pollster laid bare the hard truth that the Republican Party essentially has nothing to offer the American people in the run-up to the crucial 2022 midterm elections in November.
Democrats will have to defend their narrow majorities in both houses of Congress.
However, as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell acknowledged publicly Thursday, Republicans may well fall short in their efforts to retake the Senate, in particular.
“Yeah, I think that it wouldn’t be surprising to see this happen. Because the problem that the Republicans have right now is they don’t have a message except that they’re against what the current administration is doing,” Republican pollster and author, Lee Carter, said in an on-camera appearance on Fox News. “And that’s not a message enough to give people hope. We’ve got people who have — only 10 percent of Americans are optimistic about our future. We need to have a party that’s going to paint a brighter tomorrow.
“Everybody knows what the problems are. Most people feel worse about the economy today than they did three months ago. They’re feeling less optimistic. They know that things are bad. They don’t need to be reminded of it,” she said. “They don’t want to see more fighting. They want to see more solutions. And so, when you look at the polling, you see the Biden administration having record low numbers and you look at the generic ballots, as tighter they are, it tells you the Republicans are not playing their hand very well in this moment. We know the problem, give us the solution.”
