House Republican Says Dead Babies in Gaza ‘Are Not Innocent Palestinian Civilians’
More than 10,000 children have been killed since October 7
A Republican congressman from Florida declared that the babies being killed in Gaza by Israeli military operations “are not innocent Palestinian civilians.”
Rep Brian Mast made the stunning statement Wednesday at the Capitol during an encounter with protesters.
Representing most of Broward County and a part of Palm Beach, Mast was met by members of Code Pink, an internationally active left-wing anti-war organization.
The protesters recorded and distributed online video of their encounter with Mast as they objected to the young children who have been dying in Gaza since the Israeli military began their current operations after the October 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas.
Some 27,000 Palestinians have been killed since the latest round of violence began last fall, including more than 10,000 infants and children.
That death toll has caught the attention of the international community, and the United Nations’ top court recently ordered Israel to do all it can to prevent death, destruction and any acts of genocide in Gaza.
It was this situation that the protesters objected to Wednesday.
“You haven’t seen the pictures of all the babies being killed?” a protester asked Mast, who’s been in Congress since 2017.
“These are not innocent Palestinian civilians — ” the congressman replied, who has taken more than $450,000 from pro-Israel lobbyists, according to data Code Pink included in their video.
To which the protester asked, “The babies are not?”

PROTESTER 1: “You haven’t seen the pictures of all the babies being killed?”
MAST: “These are not innocent Palestinian civilians — ”
PROTESTER 1: “The babies are not?”
PROTESTER 2: “The babies? What about the half a million people starving to death?”
MAST: “The half a million people starving to death are people that should go out there and put a government in place that doesn’t go out there and attack Israel on a daily basis.”
PROTESTER 1: “These kids? These seven-year-olds?”
PROTESTER 2: "Five-year-olds, seven-year-olds, nine-year-olds?"
