‘It’s All About Results’: NH Governor Says He’s Sticking with Trump After Hitler Bombshells
Sununu backed Nikki Haley's earlier this year before falling in line behind former president
New Hampshire Gov Chris Sununu said that he continues to support Donald Trump’s election despite new revelations about Trump’s affinity for Adolf Hitler.
Sununu had been a Trump critic and one of the most prominent backers of Trump’s top rival earlier this year during the Republican primary season.
But he fell into line behind Trump once Nikki Haley dropped her bid against the former president.
Just this week, multiple journalists are out with new reporting — including recorded audio — of Trump’s longest-serving White House chief of staff plainly calling the former president a fascist and saying that Trump voiced an affinity for Hitler, the leader of Nazi Germany during World War II who was responsible for the systematic extermination of millions of human beings.
Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as journalists and others, have been making a case that Trump’s fascist ideation should be disqualifying for his return to the White House.
But those disclosures aren’t moving Sununu, according to an on-camera interview he gave Wednesday.
Trump will deliver “results,” Sununu told CNN’s Kate Bolduan, adding, “It’s all about results.”
“Look, I don’t think anybody should be okay with statements like that. Of course. And if there’s ever anyone you don’t want any sort of comparison to, it’s Hitler and all of that sort of thing,” Sununu said. “As we’ve discussed before, I think what it’s not just what Chris Sununu is going to be voting for. I think most of America is going to go this way. I do think Trump wins this thing in the end, and it’s about that change.”
