‘Joe Biden Sent The Orders’: Congressman Blames President for Attempt on Trump’s Life
President, in fact, condemns the shooting
A Republican congressman from Georgia is publicly accusing President Biden of causing the attempt on Donald Trump’s life, just hours after the shooting at the Republican’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Rep Mike Collins posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Joe Biden sent the orders,” not long after a gunman wounded Trump and reportedly killed a rallygoer.
A gunman and one audience member are dead after a shooting at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday night, according to the local district attorney. Another spectator is in serious condition.
Trump said on social media that he was shot and hit by a bullet in the “upper part of my right ear.” The Secret Service said the former president is now safe after being injured and rushed off the rally stage with blood on his face.
However, Collins — a first-term lawmaker — fired off his own posts, including one suggesting that Biden be held responsible, criminally: “The Republican District Attorney in Butler County, PA, should immediately file charges against Joseph R. Biden for inciting an assassination.”
In truth, Biden released a White House statement condemning the attempt on Trump’s life.
“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania,” he said. “I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information.
“Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”
Unfortunately, Collins is hardly the only Trump supporter engaging in reckless talk online.
Right-wing actor James Woods threatened civil war over the shooting.
“We were two inches away from a civil war today. It is not a prospect I relish, but one that is to be feared if Democrats don’t stop with their absurd vile Hitler analogies and their assassination glee,” he posted.
