Kamala Harris’s Campaign Trolls RFK Jr
VP mocks former candidate's complaints as he exits the race
As he was dropping out of the race for president and endorse Donald Trump for a second term, independent Robert F Kennedy Jr tried to drag Vice President Kamala Harris.
Staffers at the Democrat’s presidential campaign turned the tables on the environmental lawyer-turned-anti-vaxxer, however by mocking him on social media.
After weeks of speculation, the estranged scion of the famed Kennedy political dynasty suspended his run for president Friday and endorsed Trump.
The family members of Kennedy — son of the slain senator and 1968 presidential hopeful — repeatedly disavowed RFK Jr’s own bid for the White House.
RFK Jr started as a rival to President Biden for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination before dropping out and switching to an independent bid.
Harris subsequently became the Democratic nominee after Biden abandoned his bid for reelection in July.
In remarks announcing his departure from the race delivered in Phoenix, Ariz, Kennedy attempted to jab Harris by saying that she refused to meet with him while Trump did.
“Following my first discussion with President Trump, I tried unsuccessfully to open similar discussions with Vice President Harris,” he said. “Vice President Harris declined to meet, or even to speak, with me.”
Rather than denying it, the Harris campaign posted on social media both tweaking and dismissing Kennedy’s gripe.
The post turned around the decision not to engage with RFK Jr as a sign of the vice president’s good judgement.
The Harris campaign post features a video clip of RFK Jr revealing the lack of engagement from her with the caption: “BREAKING: RFK Jr just announced that Kamala refused to even meet with him. Retweet so all Americans see this and know Kamala Harris is already putting her incredibly [sic] decision making abilities on display.”
