Majority In Online Poll Wants Biden To Remain in the Race
More than 100,000 responded in unscientific survey
A majority of those responding to a recent online poll want President Biden to remain in his race for reelection despite a performance at the first presidential debate which alarmed some voters and even prompted some Democrats to call for Biden to be replaced on the Democratic ticket.
Only 44 percent of respondents said “Yes,” to the question: “Should Joe Biden drop out of the 2024 primary?”
By contrast, 56 percent said, “No,” they don’t want Biden to drop out of the race despite a performance during the June 27 against presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump which was halting and sometimes incoherent.
Biden campaign staffers have blamed a cold and Biden’s recent demanding international travel schedule for the president’s poor showing.
Some Democrats have been mulling whether to replace Biden atop the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket.
The poll was posted Tuesday by the left-leaning YouTuber and podcaster, David Pakman.
By deadline, more than 124,000 visitors engaged with the poll that Pakman posted on his YouTube page.
Although a large number of people responded to Pakman’s survey, it is not a scientific public opinion poll.
