'Never Trumper' GOP Analyst: Republicans Have Either ‘Very Bad Policy’ Or ‘Not Worthy of Mention Policy’
Frustration of President Biden would be main goal of a Republican majority, Del Percio says
The Republican Party isn't offering much in the way of policy choices in the run-up to the midterm elections in November, and those which they are providing are “not worthy of mention,” according to a Republican operative and strategist who opposes Donald Trump and Trumpism.
Democrats will be defending their razor-thin majorities in both houses of Congress in November, and have seen electoral momentum shift towards them in the weeks since the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade and upended half a century of national abortion rights.
“I do agree with the president, especially when he called it very thin on policy details,” Republican “Never Trumper” operative Susan Del Percio said of criticism by President Biden of the Republicans' stated policy goals. “As a matter of fact, the most of substantial piece of policy we’ve actually seen come from Republicans is from Sen Rick Scott of Florida who wants to get rid of Medicare in five years.
“So, that’s what this country is looking towards, either very bad policy, or very sane or not worthy of mention policy, frankly,” Del Percio said in an interview with MSNBC. “But make no mistake of that. If the Republicans get control, it will not be any type of policy that they pursue, but rather, an agenda of disruption and going against the president.”
