Pelosi, Schumer: Biden Should Run Again, He’s Done An Excellent Job
Pair don't say it's time for a new generation in the White House
President Biden's gotten the endorsement of two top Democrats who believe that he should run for reelection in 2024.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi offered their assessment this week during what was billed as the congressional leaders’ first joint sit-down interview on CNN.
CNN reporter Jamie Gangel noted to Pelosi that she recently decided to step down from Democratic leadership after 20 years and asked, “Do you think President Biden should step aside for a younger generation?”
The California Democrat shook her head and answered, “I think President Biden has done an excellent job as president of the United States. I hope that he does seek re-election.”
Gangel turned to Schumer and asked him about the president's potential to seek a second term.
“Yeah, he’s done an excellent, excellent job. And if he runs, I’m going to support him all the way,” Schumer added.
