President Biden Mocks Trump Prediction on Day Stock Market Hits New High
Second day in a roll, Biden trolls likely election opponent on social media
President Biden’s on something of a roll on social media.
For the second day in a row, he was posting on social media mocking his likely opponent in November’s presidential election, Donald Trump.
Just a day after he skewered Trump with a tongue-in-cheek post dragging his predecessor for claiming that Trump’s own one-time United Nations ambassador was somehow responsible for security during the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol Building, Biden was back on social media to mark another historic high closing of the American stock markets on his watch.
The Dow Jones and S&P 500 averages both closed Monday at record highs.
Although Americans typically have given Biden poor marks on his handling of the economy, the president and his reelection team are hoping voters begin to see palpable improvements in the coming months.
And Monday evening’s Biden post is clearly meant as a humorous way to draw attention to president’s successes.
Biden’s post split-screens a prediction Trump made on the campaign trail back in 2020, with Monday’s news from the markets.
“Left: Trump in 2020 saying the stock market will collapse if President Biden wins
“Right: The Dow and S&P 500 hitting all-time record highs today,” the post said.
Over that, Biden quipped, “Good one, Donald.”
