Republicans Attempt To Troll Biden After Sanctions Talk, But End Up Being The Ones Being Owned
“president biden should have walked out of the room backwards, wide-eyed, staring daggers into the camera -- if he wanted to be a Real Man," one wag tweets
Republicans tried to get clever in criticizing President Biden after he announced sanctions against Russia for its fresh aggression in Ukraine.
However, it became the GOP which found themselves ridiculed on social media.
Calling them a “flagrant violation of international law,” President Biden announced sanctions against Russia Tuesday for the incursions and strikes Putin began ordering Monday in sovereign Ukraine, which neighbors Russia on the west.
Biden announced the sanctions from the White House.
In face of what could become the worst ground war in Europe since World War II, Republicans chose to try to mock the president apparently the way that he walked away from his podium once his remarks were complete.
Jake Schneider, a Republican operative tweeted out a photo of Biden walking away from the podium with the caption, “Once again, Biden turns his back on the press and shuffles away in what has become the defining image of his failed presidency.”
Schneider, however, quickly found his jab fodder for social media guffaws.
“George Washington, the father of our country, would only exit rooms by doing cartwheels. Abraham Lincoln would hop on one leg. Ronald Reagan would skip out the door,” Ian Millhiser, senior correspondent at Vox, tweeted.
The japes did not end there.
House Republicans attempted to double down on the attack, tweeting the same photo of Biden's back, this time with the caption: “This is what weakness on the world stage looks like.”
However, Bobby Lewis, a writer for the organization, Media Matters, shot back: “president biden should have walked out of the room backwards, wide-eyed, staring daggers into the camera -- if he wanted to be a Real Man”
