RFK Jr. ‘Is a Living, Breathing False-Flag Operation’
Democrats sharpen focus on scion challenging President Biden
Democrats and others are honing their criticism of the scion of one of the nation's most celebrated political families after he was revealed to have made racist and antisemitic remarks in his campaign to challenge President Biden for renomination next year.
Robert F Kennedy Jr testified before Congress Thursday, at the invitation of House Republicans.
Kennedy, who is challenging President Biden for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination, is increasingly being called out after Kennedy could be heard on video making a series of false and misleading claims, including saying, “We don't know whether it [COVID-19] was deliberately targeted or not, but there are papers out there that show the racial or ethnic differential and impact.”
Kennedy has denied any racial bias.
Kennedy — the son of the former senator and 1968 presidential hopeful — is running a campaign of his own which is a longshot bid largely supported by Republicans seeking to politically damage Biden.
“Why would you give Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a congressional platform to spew his hatred? Here's the answer: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a living, breathing, false-flag operation. His whole campaign is being run by right-wing political operatives who have one objective, try to take down President Joe Biden,” said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). “That's why Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was given a congressional platform on this week of all weeks, because of my extreme MAGA Republican colleagues are really not interested in doing anything meaningful to improve the economy, address inflation, create jobs, or deal with public safety concerns, particularly around the gun violence epidemic that are afflicting the American people.”
Data backs up claims that Republicans are supporting Kennedy's campaign, according to John Avlon, senior political analyst at CNN.
“So, let's take those things one, two, three. As Phil introduced, you know, a cynical person might say that Republicans are promoting this candidacy. Well, the data of the donations would suggest that that is indeed the fact,” he said in an on-camera appearance. “The trolling, sort of, you know, you know, hearing today also would indicate that fact. Now, look, polling also shows that there is a large number of Democrats who are dissatisfied with the idea of Joe Biden running for reelection.
“And so clearly Robert F. Kennedy, banking off the strength of that name — his father's historic name — can get a lot of that energy. The problem is that he has been a proponent [of the anti-vaccine movement] after he was a responsible environmentalist. You've got to give him credit for that and -- for a period of his life,” Avlon added. “This is what's known in extremism work as horseshoe theory, where the far right and the far left end up circling back on each other. And that's the truth with this anti-vaxxer stuff. He was an early proponent of it. It got adopted by the right. Now there's a degree of common cause. But it doesn't make anybody smarter, doesn't make anybody safer.”
Democratic Rep Gerry Connolly, of Virginia, took Kennedy to task, harshly, to his face during the congressional session.
“No matter what you may think, Mr. Kennedy — and I revere your name — you're not here to propound your case for censorship, you are here for cynical reasons to be used politically by that side of the aisle to embarrass the current president of the United States, and you are an enabler in that effort today,” Connolly said. “And it brings shame on a storied name that I revere. I began my political interest with your father and it makes me profoundly sad to see where we had to send it today in this hearing.”
