The Right vs Pride: Boebert Stirs Boycott of North Face
Line of rainbow-colored sportswear catches the ire of the Republican congresswoman
In its newfound war against Pride Month, the political right will not be satisfied having successfully bullied Target.
Rep Lauren Boebert, the far-right congresswoman from Colorado, is stoking a boycott of the popular outdoor recreation products company, North Face, over its line of rainbow-colored sportswear marketed in time for the celebration of Pride coming up in June.
The company's Pride lineup for 2023 includes nothing more than t-shirts, shorts, sneakers and related items which merely have been purposely decorated for Pride, which the LGBTQ community celebrates annually in June.
Those products, however, were enough for the Republican Boebert to take to Twitter Thursday evening to express her outrage.
“Well, I guess North Face wanted to get a taste of what conservatives did to Bud Light and Target,” she tweeted, referring to recent right-wing boycotts and attacks against the beer brand for its partnership with social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who is a transgender woman; and Target, which began as the first quarry of the MAGA crowd for the retailer's line of products designed to tie-in with Pride. “How many times do we have to explain to the woke marketing departments at these disgusting companies that America is not a nation of degenerates?
“It’s time to boycott ANY product North Face has ever made,” Boebert added. “Let’s make it as shameful to wear North Face as it is to drink Bud Light!”
