Trump-backed Candidate Articulates Goals Ahead Of South Carolina Rally
This is the second run for Republican Arrington
A right-wing Republican endorsed by Donald Trump ticked off several of her goals should she defeat incumbent Rep Nancy Mace (R-SC) and go on to be elected as congresswoman herself.
Kate Arrington — who has the former president’s backing to snatch the Republican nomination away from the first-term incumbent, Mace — outlined her agenda in an on-camera interview with the heavily right-wing Right Side Broadcasting Network, on the sidelines waiting for Trump's arrival and his rally to commence Saturday in Florence, SC.
Arrington says that she has four priorities, if elected to represent the Palmetto State's Charleston-based 1st Congressional District:
Fire Dr Anthony Fauci, who, in addition to his long-standing work as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), serves as President Biden's top medical advisor;
Abolish the Department of Education;
Impeach Biden;
And “open Hunter Biden's laptop.”
Aside from his role advising the president, Dr Fauci's position at the NIAID is as a career civil servant therefore he cannot be fired by an act of Congress.
It's not realistic, given the partisan power splits in Washington DC today, that either the Department of Education could be abolished, or Biden removed from office even if somehow he were to be impeached.
And the the stories of Hunter Biden's laptop have simply been long debunked.
This is Arrington's second run for the US House.
She ran in 2018, going so far as denying incumbent Rep Mark Sanford the Republican renomination to the seat.
However, that November she was beaten by Democrat Joe Cunningham.
Two years later, Cunningham was turned out by Republican Mace.
Trump has come to despise Mace, calling her a “RINO,” or “Republican In Name Only,” because she has been honest in her criticisms of the former president's involvement in the deadly January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.
TV commentator and political host Mehdi Hasan is lamenting the fact that “extreme candidates,” like Arrington, can get even as far as they are.
“Republicans run extreme candidates like this, who have bonkers views and conspiratorial outlets and have no policies whatsoever on the economy or healthcare etc, meanwhile the Dems self-flagellate over whether some activists saying ‘Defund the Police’ might cost them seats,” he tweeted.
