Trump Kneecaps Republican Congressman Weeks After He Traveled to NY Courtroom
Republican vs Republican battle on social media
Donald Trump once again is proving that, for him, loyalty is a one-way street.
Just weeks after far-right Republican Rep Bob Good traveled to New York to be one of the gaggle of sycophants visiting Trump’s criminal trial, the former president took to social media to savage the Virginia lawmaker.
Good, currently in his second term in Congress representing a swath of the Old Dominion encompassing the cities of Charlottesville, Danville, and Lynchburg, was one of the Republicans who on May 16 visited the courthouse May where Trump has been standing trial for a hush-money scheme to prevent voters from learning about an alleged extramarital affair with a porn star.
However, Good earlier had endorsed Florida’s Republican governor, Ron DeSantis, for president.
Trump paid Good back for that transgression Tuesday with a social media post savaging Good and endorsing Good’s rival in the Republican primary for the congressional seat.
“Bob Good is BAD FOR VIRGINIA, AND BAD FOR THE USA,” Trump wrote on his personal social media site. “He turned his back on our incredible movement, and was constantly attacking and fighting me until recently, when he gave a warm and ‘loving’ Endorsement – But really, it was too late,” the presumptive Republican 2024 presidential nominee added, saying the “damage has been done.”
