Trump Once Again Calls To Ban Immigrants, During Bizarre Speech
Candidate takes Islamophobic position during New Hampshire rally
Donald Trump's returning to xenophobic, Islamophobic and racist roots, by once again is looking to ban immigrants from the United States.
Trump began his political career, nearly a decade ago, specifically looking to keep Muslims from entering the country.
Now, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, wants to do it again, in response to the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel on October 7.
The former president made those remarks during an unhinged and bizarre campaign rally Monday in Derry, NH.
Trump called for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” in 2015 when he was first running for president.
Now he wants to do it again against apparently Muslim immigrants who “don't like our religion,” following the October 7 attacks which sparked the latest round of violence in the Middle East.
“They want to come in, they want to bring the same people that are shooting rockets at Israel, they want to come into the United States. I don’t think a lot of good things are going to happen. And I will implement strong ideological screening of all immigrants,” Trump said. “If you hate America, if you want to abolish Israel, if you don’t like our religion — which a lot of them don’t — if you sympathize with jihadists, then we don’t want you in our country and you are not getting in.”
Trump's appearance in New Hampshire was marked by bizarre statements, as well.
He called Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban “the leader of Turkey,” and told Republicans not to vote in the 2024 election: “You don’t have to vote. ... We got plenty of votes.”
Trump also took questions from reporters when he officially filed as a candidate in the Granite State, but falsely said, “We did nothing wrong. This is all Biden, indictments and impeachments and this is all about Biden, he can’t do anything right. The only thing they know how to do is cheat in elections and election fraud. This is all by himself.
“All of these indictments that you see. I was never indicted. Practically never heard the word. It wasn’t a word that registered,” Trump said.
The truth is that Trump has been criminally indicted four times in state and federal courts and faces nearly 100 separate felony counts.
