Trump Posts Memorial Day Message -- With No Mention of Troops
Screed is a rant about his legal troubles
President Biden observed Memorial Day with a solemn appearance at Arlington National Cemetery, outside Washington DC.
His presumptive opponent in this year’s presidential election — Donald Trump — also appeared to mark the occasion, as well.
Trump’s way of recognizing the nation’s holiday to remember US troops who have fallen in battle was markedly different, however.
The former president — currently mounting his third run for the White House — observed the an angry, and unhinged, post on his personal social media site.
Trump’s post might be most notable for who wasn’t mentioned even once: US soldiers who fought for their country.
“Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country,” Trump began, launching into a lengthy post consisting, essentially, of one very long run-on and poorly punctuated sentence.
The Republican, currently standing trial in New York as a criminal defendant, proceeded to go through a litany of his perceived — and baseless — grievances against the US legal system, including attacks against the various judges who have overseen the court cases in recent years for which he’s been a defendant, including civil and business cases which he lost and was ordered to pay damages.
The entire post, however, revolved around Trump himself and his anger.
Nowhere — not once — did Trump even mention the US military or its service members.
