Trump Refuses to Disavow ‘Black Nazi’ Republican in NC
CNN report exposed more unsavory comments by Mark Robinson
Donald Trump has declined to walk away from his endorsement of — and association with — the Republican candidate for governor in North Carolina who described himself as a “Black Nazi” and a “perv.”
Trump had been enthusiastic about the candidacy of the Tar Heel State’s lieutenant governor, with the former president calling fellow Republican Mark Robinson “Martin Luther King on steroids.”
Robinson, who is well-known for an assortment of offensive and incendiary comments over the years, was further exposed by a CNN report published last week.
That report found North Carolina’s lieutenant governor posted a variety of messages on an online pornography forum.
Among them, Robinson referred to himself as a “Black Nazi” and “a perv.”
He said that he enjoyed secretly “peeping” on women in public gym showers as a 14-year-old. Robinson recounted the story as a memory he said he still fantasized about.
Robinson refused calls to exit the governor’s race.
A week after the CNN story broke as national news, Trump has refused to disavow his endorsement of his fellow Republican.
A reporter asked the 2024 Republican presidential nominee about Robinson Thursday.
“Are you going to pull your endorsement of Mark Robinson?” Trump was asked.
Trump lamely replied, “I don’t know the situation.”
