‘We Get that It’s Gonna Take a Little Bit of Time for Folks to Feel What the Bidenomics Has Been Able To Do’
Americans will see effects of economic policies, White House press secretary says
President Biden and his team think that it's just a matter of time before Americans start to more directly the benefits of his economic stewardship.
That's according to the White House press secretary.
Although he is gearing up for a likely rematch against Republican Donald Trump in November's presidential election, Biden’s facing lackluster public approval numbers, including on the economy.
This is despite positive economic developments during Biden's presidency, including record job growth and a surging stock market.
Biden and his team have been trying to promote this positive economic stewardship under the umbrella of “Bidenomics.”
“So, I’m going to, again, be super mindful of 2024, as we're stepping — as we're into it, an election year. Look, we understand what the American people went through these past three years, right?” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during an on-camera interview Tuesday with MSNBC. “We came out of a pandemic, right, a pandemic that we haven’t seen in a hundred years. And when the president walked in, the economy was upside down.
“And so we get it, we get that it’s gonna take a little bit of time for folks to feel what the ‘Bidenomics’ has been able to do,” she added. “That’s not something that I’m saying, that’s something that economists have said, right, it takes a little bit of time. But it doesn’t mean, it doesn’t mean that the president’s not going to continue to work.”
