‘Where No Woman Has Gone Before’: ‘Star Trek’ Actors To Co-host Harris Call
Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd and others slated to rally supporters via Zoom
Vice President Kamala Harris’s famous Zoom rallies are headed for the final frontier.
Several actors from the celebrated Star Trek franchise will be joining astronauts, former NASA officials and others for a call Thursday evening on behalf of the surging candidacy of Harris and her running mate, Gov Tim Walz.
Tens of thousands of Americans have joined in the ongoing series of online gatherings via the Zoom video meeting portal to boost the Democrats’ chances of holding the White House in November.
Michelle Hurd, Jeri Ryan and Robert Picardo starred in various incarnations of Star Trek over the years, and are helping lead the call, which adopted the subtle nod to the sci-fi phenomenon with the tagline: “To boldly go where no woman has gone before…”
Harris would be the first woman elected president of the United States.
“Tomorrow night, I'll be there... Hope you will be there too, you!! 🖖🏾😊❤️” Hurd, who played Raffi Musiker in the recent series Star Trek: Picard, posted Wednesday on social media.
Ryan, who played the character of Seven of Nine on both Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Picard, posted: “Let’s do this, space peeps!!!”
Aside from the actors, on the call will be former NASA administrators Charlie Bolden and Sean O’Keefe as well as real-life astronauts like Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger as well as others.
